Proposed location
Denzell Downs, near St Eval and St Mawgan, Cornwall
Background to the site at Denzell Downs
Cornwall Light and Power (CLP) is currently looking at the potential to place wind turbines on land at Denzell Downs, near St Eval and St Mawgan in Cornwall. This site is adjacent to the existing operational Bears Down wind farm.
Electricity generated by turbines at this site would go into the local distribution network, and based on one possible layout could be sufficient to power over 5,500 households in the surrounding communities each year, and save the equivalent of up to 23,000 tonnes of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere.¹
What’s happening?
Initial plans for Denzell Downs were presented to the public at an exhibition at St Mawgan Community Hall on 11 and 12 December 2009. If you were unable to attend these exhibitions, please see ‘Site resources’ below to view the exhibition panels that were on display.
More information on the proposals will be available from this site in due course.
