Background to the site at Oxheys Farm

Cornwall Light & Power (CLP) is proposing wind turbines on land at Oxheys Farm, near Eaton. These would produce emissions-free electricity for consumption by local homes and businesses, help tackle climate change, and make a substantial contribution to Cheshire's targets for wind energy.

We acquired the site from npower in October 2005 and since then we have been carrying out a number of studies to gather detailed information about the ecology and landscape of the site. This data has helped to inform the development of our scoping report.

Involving you

We are committed to ensuring that local people can contribute to the development of the plans for Oxheys, and ensuring that views and feedback are properly considered.

In the first instance, we invite local people to attend our initial public exhibitions (see below), to find out more about the outline plans and speak to the development team. Feedback from these exhibitions will help shape the planning application itself.

If you have any immediate questions in the meantime, please do not hesitiate to contact us.

Please click here to download the scoping report submitted to Cheshire West and Cheshire Council, which outlines initial proposals for the site at Oxheys.

If you have any comments or queries regarding this document please don't hesitate to contact CLP.

April 2009

We will be presenting outline information on our emerging proposals for this site at two public exhibitions. Local people are invited to attend to find out how they can become involved in the development of these proposals.

The exhibitions will take place at the Jessie Hughes Village Hall on Royal Lane, Eaton at the following times:

  • Friday 1 May, 12 noon to 8pm
  • Saturday 2 May, 10am to 2pm

These events will coincide with us submitting a 'scoping report' to Cheshire West & Chester Council's planning department. This sets out, in broad terms only, our proposals for the site.
